Learning Objectives for "Animal Virus Life Cycles: A Natural History of HIV Infection"

After completing this section you should be able to perform the following objectives.

 

1*. State the median incubation period for AIDS and, in terms of viral load, exhaustion of the lymphopoietic system, and immune responses, briefly describe what marks the progression to AIDS.

2. Briefly describe the following:

a. early or acute HIV infection
b. chronic HIV infection
c. AIDS
